I love stories. And I believe God writes the best ones, even — and maybe especially — when our lives don’t look anything like what we expected. That’s what led to writing this blog post, called “I Don’t Wait Anymore,” about a decade ago. When I finally put my dreams on the altar, He put His pen to a new story in my life, a story that had nothing to do with me … everything to do with Him.
In that pen stroke of His, I came alive.
And I felt compelled to share it.
I’m a journalist in real life. I’ve loved telling other people’s stories for years … not my own. I trembled the day I hit “publish” on “I Don’t Wait Anymore” … and I’m still surprised that it somehow turned into this book.
God is surprising. And somehow … that fact never stops being a surprise. Or a joy.
Stick around a little while, and it won’t take you long to see that I don’t always handle things perfectly. And life is all kinds of hard sometimes, just like we were promised it would be. But Jesus is my everything, and He is enough … and I wouldn’t trade this story for anything.
There’s infinite peace. Infinite love. He’s worth it.
